These earrings from the Amazon Collection are not inexpensive, but they are classic and make a nice addition to a jewelry box that lacks stud earrings suitable for everyday wear. They are a cool, deep green - darker than they look in the photograph, so take that into account when considering how they'll look on you. (They'd be wonderful on someone with brown or caramel-colored eyes and the white gold versions would be stunning on someone with silver hair and green eyes.) One of the nice things about chrome diopside is that it doesn't usually have inclusions, and these are no exception. They're deliciously clean to the naked eye.These studs are 8 mm, barely. They'll look fine even on a petite person, but they're large enough not to get swallowed up if you usually wear your hair down, even if you are a brunette. The cut of the stone is not as "deep" as I'd like, but the gold basket-style mount is extremely delicate, expensive looking, and attractive. The butterfly backs are a tad small, but adequate for these light and comfortable earrings.
You could probably get the same effect much more cheaply with green crystals, which might actually even throw off more light. If you don't wear a lot of green, neutrals, or complimentary colors, or if you are on a more limited budget, that would be a great way to go. But if you take a certain satisfaction from knowing that you are wearing real stones that will maintain their brilliance and endure for your lifetime, these are a good choice. I took advantage of a promotional certificate, so while I still feel the price was on the high side, I do plan to keep these and I feel that I'll get a fair amount of use from them.
