I was delighted to find this pendant--perfect for my mom, whose birthstone is amethyst and who is, of course, the queen of the family. Only after ordering it did I really pay attention to the dimensions listed, and I was worried when I realized it was only about the size of a dime. However, the size is just about right--as someone else mentioned about a similar pendant, if it were bigger it'd run the risk of being tacky. (See my photo of this pendant next to a dime.) Also, the pendant has a nice weight to it--with the setting, it's about 1/4" thick. Computer screens differ--on my screen the Amazon photo of this pendant appears to be a rich, deep purple, but the actual pendant is more of a light purple--a lilac, almost pink color. Also, as other people have mentioned about similar pendants in this line, the chain is very thin--a throwaway, really. It will have to be replaced with one that's a little more substantial.
