I purchased a pink tourmaline engagement ring (my fiancée's choice) from Fine Jewelers in early June 2008. To educate myself, I had shopped at a number of jewelers and checked extensively on-line. I selected Fine Jewelers based first on the stone size, price, and ring design (but from only a picture, alas) and secondly, based on their on-line guarantee. As it happened, the stone fell out three days after I had proposed (yikes!!), but Fine Jewelers stood 100% behind their guarantee and promptly replaced the stone, even paying shipping both ways. The only reason I do not rate the item five stars is that I really would rather have paid more for the ring and gotten a larger stone (the current one is 1.3 ct and really is quite nice). Since I needed to return the ring anyway, I thought to see if I could get a larger stone. However, I was assured by Thomas at Fine Jeweler's (and in whom I felt reasonable confidence and very much recommend) that it was difficult to get a larger stone, even given I was willing to pay the difference. Given Fine Jeweler's excellent service and unwillingness to take my money, I guess I had to believe him. I rate Fine Jewelers five-star, even if they (nor seemingly anyone else) could quite give me what I wanted.James
